Making Video Software
I'm sitting in the classroom trying to learn how to make a movie by using Pinnacle software. Without having access to the software, we are watching the instructor editing the movie by watching it on the projector. I began to see how this "passive learning" could happen to students in a language classroom. It became clear to me that it's meaningless when not providing students the access to what you are teaching. What would be a few bad examples when it comes to teaching a foreign language?
1. Teach pronunciation with a chart
2. Teach new sentence structures with a PowerPoint presentation
3. Teach a new dialogue with video clips
What would be a good way to engage students?
1. Teach a simple song (head, shoulders, knees and toes)/rhyme (ma ma ma ma) /skit (He le ma?)
2. Give scenarios and ask student to perform to provide the sentence structures. (qing ni jiao wo zenme _____)
3. Still trying to figure this one out!
